Breathtaking in its size and supple texture, this beautiful large buckskin bag by Native American artist Chief Rice measures 12" wide by 16" tall and 3" deep. (These measurements are only an approximation as the "give" of the buckskin makes it difficult to get exact measurements.) Made from one large hide, each of the pieces, all off the fringe and the entire strap were cut, measured, shaped and sewn BY HAND in the traditional manner. This means there were no patterns and most importantly, NO SEWING MACHINES. Just an artist and his talent. Chief is one of the finest traditional leatherworkers we've ever seen and this incredible leather bag shows why. Strong enough to hold all your day to day belongings but softer than ANY OTHER leather bag we've ever seen, this is sure to make an exceptional gift for that leather fan in your life!! Other measurements: Strap: 42" (can be knotted to make shorter) Fringe: hangs approximately 6" below bag.
