Blackfoot artist Stone Akin created this incredible one-of-a-kind gourd bowl using a homegrown gourd. The breathtaking buffalo and chief were meticulously burned into the face of the gourd by hand and then painted over. This is a beautiful example of traditional Native American Indian gourd work by one of the finest artists working with gourds today. This beautiful genuine handcrafted bowl measures a robust 8 1/2" wide, has a 2 1/2" opening and is 9 1/2" tall. Stone grows his own gourds, cleans them and then burns and paints the images all by hand using traditional tools and techniques in honour of his Native American ancestry. This particular eagle chief bowl took over 30 hours just to achieve the image. These one-of-a-kind items make astonishing home decor items and are beautiful heirloom quality gift items.
