Genuine Navajo Horsehair Wedding Vase by Tom Vail
[TVWV017]
$50.00

Horsehair pottery is one of the most difficult mediums in all of Native American Artwork as it involves flaming the pottery to an incredible 1600 degrees, then immediately pulling it out, applying the horsehair and then returning it to the kiln. Often times this results in the pottery actually exploding! Thankfully, Tom Vail has mastered this art form and rather than creating shards of broken pottery and dust, he provides the world with some of the most lovely and engaging wedding vases you will ever see. These beautiful Navajo style wedding vases have abstract traditional etchings on the front and back of the vase and measure 5 1/2" by 4 1/2" wide and make fantastic wedding gifts. These are also popular as a centerpiece for the bride and groom's table providing them with a unique item they can treasure for a lifetime. (Signed T Vail.) NOTE: There will be color and shade variations that are inherent to handmade horsehair pottery. The lines created by the horsehair application will never be identical. The etchings will also vary in shape and size from piece to piece as each one is etched by hand. No two pots will be exactly alike.
