The original occupants of Okmulgee seemed to prefer abstract ceramic representations of humans and animals. This jar is a reproduction of a typical style which portrayed a human head over a spherical body. Notice that the head is wearing a conical cap similar to those worn by the Mayas. The pot is made from red Georgia clay and has been darkened with a stain of metallic oxides found in the Etowah River Valley of Georgia. Dimensions: 8" high
