Ingredients

1/2 Pound Ground Pork
1/2 Pound Ground Beef
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Uncooked Brown Rice
1 Finely Diced Onion
1/2 Teaspoon Thyme
8 Cups Water
1 Chopped Tomato
1 Clove Diced Garlic
1/2 Cup Chile Huerta
2 Yerba Buena
1 Thick Slice French Bread
1/2 Teaspoon Cumin
2 Thin Sliced Carrots
1 Cup Peas

Method

+ Mix pork, beef, egg, rice, 1/2 of the onion, and thyme together then form into small balls
+ Bring water to boil and add meatballs, simmering for one hour
+ Add tomato, garlic, chili, and remaining onion then simmer for 35 minutes
+ Add yerba buena then simmer for 10 minutes
+ Soak bread in small amount of broth until softened then place in blender and chop with cumin
+ Add to soup and stir in
+ Add carrots and peas and simmer until tender
+Serve Hot
+Serves Four
