The Zuni people are farmers and traders, as well as craftspeople. The reservation is highly protected, isolated and self-sufficient. The people live in the traditional ways of their ancestors and speak the Shiwi language, which is unique to them. In Zuni society the women hold authority over any children, property and decisions in the families. In history they avoided conflict whenever possible and were able to maintain their autonomy. The Zuni tribe resides on their historical land. The Zuni artisans are known for their precise and incomparable inlay work utilizing tiny pieces of turquoise, jet, coral and other stones in distinct patterns, each meticulously laid in place. All of the beatiful jewelry pieces you will see in our gallery are completely hand crafted by Native American Indians from the southwest using only genuine turquoise, coral and other stones. All silverwork is done with genuine sterling silver. And don't forget, Indian Sun offers FREE USPS Priority Shipping on all orders within the United States with no minimum purchase!
