Indian Sun is proud to present the versatile and incredibly talented Chief Rice. His wonderful and expansive collection includes everything from beaded bags, chokers, jewelry and jewelry boxes as well as traditional regalia. Chief Rice is a master at his craft and is committed to working in the “Traditional Way,” one prayer at a time and using only the technology available to his ancestors.
Indeed, when one is fortunate enough to own one of Chief’s creations they not only possess the physical item but rather all the prayers, love, commitment and sense of history that both inspires and pushes his art.
The following is a message from Chief in his own words:
“Wi-Xast S Xulla Xalt (hello, good day). My name is H. Chief Rice. I am an enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribes in Washington State. I am a traditional person and walk the spiritual path of my ancestors. I am proud of my culture, heritage and traditions, and I express that through the unique style of art and regalia items I make. I believe in promoting and preserving our Native American culture, heritage and traditions for the next generation of Native Americans, as our ancestors did for our generation. Leem-Lumt (thank you)."
